ESEA S13 Counter Strike 1.6 Week 8 Power Rankings

Sara "NickstARRS2" Approved on Tue, 02/26/2013 8:21PM

Hiiiiii!! Got these out a little late due to me having a life for a few days. Funny right? Anyways, it was an interesting last week to the season and I basically put teams in their spots due to their overall record. Playoffs should be neat and will be prediction based! ( This final week was pretty boring. Not much to be said. )

1. After their losses too Perfectionvore and tayeule, HERO has bounced back well. They've been back to their winning ways and did it with style in their last week of the season. They took out EFF 16 - 6 and Short Sleeved Magicians 16 - 11. Going into playoffs it looks like they've solidified their selves the #1 seed. After the season they had last season, they're continuing to be a contender once again. They finished this season with the Slewa brothers carrying the load.

2. The two losses they had this season were pretty bad ones. With an insanely huge Asian roster lead by Toy, mattychan and maL. They finished their season with 2 FFW's from Zero Respect and Niggin, but were able to pull off some solid victories taking out CPD ( strong team ) 16 - 13 and Wanted 16 - 4. Going into playoffs they'll secure a #4 seed, I believe and be the #2 team out of the East. Hopefully the momentum they have from their big wins at the end of the season can give them a good jump start into the playoffs.

3. A lot of controversy in the ( One half played 4v5 ) match versus WeMakeHistory, but they did pull off two huge wins taking out the ex-number 1 and number 2 seeds in the Power Rankings. They got a 16 - 6 win over WeMakeHistory who had to manage a half playing 4v5. They followed that up by giving GoodChickenFriends a beating 16 - 4. Since pulling in damage and sfX they have yet to lose while both of them continue to put up huge numbers. Going into playoffs with all this winning they should continue it with the #2 seed. Expect jko to give it his all because we all know he's just after that prize pot~ :]

4. These guys got shuffled down a bit, but won't hurt them much at all. They're still a very good team with tons of talent. I still don't like the move they made right before playoffs with babyninja and khayes, but khayes is still a beast with a lot of experience in the Invite division. They took an upsetting loss to Don't Take It Personal, but were in a situation where they were forced to play 4v5 for a half. They followed that up by taking out The Brofessors 16 - 10. They should have the #3 seed going into playoffs and a lot of motivation since losing. I expect a great match-up down the road versus Don't Take It Personal.

5. A pretty bad way to end such a great season. First losing to a great, old-school team in The Brofessors 16 - 12, but then getting man-handled by Don't Take It Personal 16 - 4. I'm not sure as to what happened in these matches, but I hope GoodChickenFriends can find a way to bounce back. They'll have a decently high seed in playoffs, but will have to bring a lot of motivation and desire to bring back their wins. Taking two losses like that, back to back to end the season is tough on a lot of teams, but I'm sure these guys will be okay due to their longevity together and handled losses well before.

6. My favorite teammmmm!!! Hmmm how did you lose to NewYork Connection, but beat CPD. I'm confused! Regardless, I think it was a win week for Perfectionvore with getting that 16 - 4 beat down over CPD. The 16 - 10 loss to NewYork Connection is rough, but Perfectionvore is a well-rounded team with tons of experience to bounce back from a loss. Going into playoffs they'll have a great seed and lots of expectations from their fan base. I think we'll continue to see Shaquille and VAATI play well while Edwin frags it up for them in crunch time on de_dust2 :] Good luck in playoffs.

7. This group had an excellent season. Regardless of losing to all the top teams, lol. Specifically teams seeded #1, #2 and A Group Of Good Friends who could be a top 3 team. They ended their season taking out Just A Sample 16 - 10 and Naughty America CS 16 - 9. Handled and murphy_db ( as expected ) put up great numbers all season long. Handled still has the worst awp in NA, but somehow found his frag when needed. They did, however, have one of the most stable rosters in all of open this season. That could benefit them in playoffs. We shall see!

8. These guys made an impressive jump to the top 10 this season. Most of their wins have been very close, but wins are wins and their record speaks for them. In the final week they picked up a big win over Perfectionvote 16 - 10. k4d4f1z and Punky put up solid numbers to help lift their team over Perfectionvore. k4d4f1z left me an interesting message on my guestbook page. I'm still confused as to what it's supposed to mean, lol. Anyways, playoffs is where we'll have to see if they can handle their own. Good luckz~

9. For some odd reason they still have 2 matches that need to be played. I don't know how that is because if they play them it will be a combined 17 matches this season, lol. It shows their record 12 - 3, but says 16 matches... I'm confused, stahp! Nonetheless these guys are a top tier team with a few mishaps ( shhh evan ) during the season. Those bumps won't hurt them like they do other teams, but it still puts a dent in their seeding. They have one of the most talented rosters in Open and tons of experience. I expect them to do well in playoffs, if not, then we know where their minds really are. I think icy is building a computer for CS:GO purposes? Uh ohhhhhh!

10. Tayeule has had an interesting season. They've taken down some of the powerhouses ( lol ) in the Eastern division, but have also received losses to teams they shouldn't have, imo. They finished off Season 13 with two impressive wins. One over CPD 16 - 10 and another against We Are The Champions 16 - 8. In both of those matches zed and frost did big things like they have all season long and I'll assume they will in playoffs. These guys can be one of those sleeper teams, but catch them on their off night and you'll be fine. Atleast that's what it seems like :x

11. Another team with an odd season, but an old man roster for sure. Most of their losses, aside from the WeMakeHistory beating, have been very close. Each of those teams they lost too are top teams with-in Open this season as well, minus Sector Clear. ( no hard feelings. ) They've also had their fair share of wins as well. In the final week they took out Fenix 16 - 2 and a team that had a lot of hype earlier in the season, mindset, 16 - 12. millipede continues to be the powerhouse fragger of the group and will shine more in playoffs. This is another team you shouldn't sleep on.

12. These guys! They've been in their own world, I feel, all season long. They have an extremely solid roster, but I think the lack of playing time is what hurt them in their 5 losses. Maybe we'll see some activity come playoffs, but for now, they're stuck with a decent seed and hopes of doing better than they did in the Regular Season. Also, despite their loss too WeMakeHistory 16 - 10 they took out GoodChickenFriends 16 - 12. That helped bumped them a little bit, but not much. Playoffs should be an interesting even for these guys and I hope to see great things.

13. Why you guys do this to meh?!!? The roughest out of any team at the end of the season. Four straight losses all to teams I felt they should have taken out. In Week 8 they got destroyed by tayeule 16 - 10 and by Perfectionvore 16 - 4. This is probably the worst season CPD has seen in a long time, lol. Much focus is obviously on CS:GO, but you still think they'd have that swag they had in previous season to take out most of the teams in Open. Playoffs in CS:GO will be a big focus for them, but I feel they should carry that into 1.6 as well. The experience in playoffs is there, that's for sure, but can they keep up with the other teams that are doing well?!?! Answer me well mah friendz.

14. Yet another team that took some bad losses in the final week of the season. They got destroyed by HERO 16 - 6 and then lost to a subpar team in SimpLexity 16 - 11. jessmeier why you disappoint me!? Of their 5 losses they had this season 4 of them were somewhat close. They have the talent and experience to do big things. So, a playoff run maybe like they had in Main could be seen this season as well. broodex to appear? They can only hope -_^

15. Back in the top 15 even though they fell too HERO 16 - 11, but their record is just a tad better than a few other teams. They did pick up a win over Zero Respect 16 - 8 and helped them get a better seed than what they could have had. I know this group has been together for a while, but I don't know how they'll pan out come playoffs this season. They're capable of taking out some teams, but when it gets to the 3rd round I think we'll see them fall off, but they can prove me wrong of course. Good luck!
