This still pertains to our competitive community as we're always clamoring for additional, well designed and balanced maps for competitive play (i.e. "Why are we still playing 4 maps aka Dust2, Inferno, Nuke, Train?") so this should help promote more mapmakers to make more maps!

Does this make it easier for people to make maps?

Hopefully brute doesn't take another year for tuscan to be finished... ?

are they going to fix the dgle?

Seems to me like another pretty useless update as far as competitive play goes. Besides that big recoil update, what have they done lately besides appeal to the nubz

Maps Workshop facilitates mappers and players alike in a number of ways.

For mappers there's now a bunch of new tools such as: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki...

    For players there's this:

"Browse the Maps Workshop, vote for your favorites, and subscribe to any map that grabs your interest. Your game client will automatically download the map, and it will update every time the author makes a change"

No more downloading a map from a website you have to register in order to download or connecting to a random server to download it in-game after a reformat or something.

I'd like to see Valve updating the game specifically for us and at a faster rate than a weekly basis but it's the "nubz" that also help keep the game alive just like CS 1.6 and CS: Source.

You sir contain a plethora of information.

Last 2 updates were specifically designed for us.

We also laugh and joke about the CS: GO player numbers (and for good reason --- I'm not disagreeing) and this looks like Valve's way of actually doing something to change that.

cs_assault + 50% off sale this weekend (omitted from the newspost) ---> attract the "nubz" = increase player #

I wish making/editing maps wasn't so difficult. They should have a simple version so I could just right click objects and choose "move/adjust/remove" or something.

A silencer for the m4 and p2000 would be awesome in my opinion :-) Love the assault! Great job

Now all we need is for Cistern to be finished and uploaded as an official ESEA map <3

there is a reason people bought and played 1.6. it was a good game and fun to play. source succeeded because it was fun to play and occassionally (depending on patch) was a good game. go is failing because its neither fun or good. gotta pay 7 bucks a month for esea just to be able to play maps you can see people on and not lag. the 64 tick servers in the matchmaking system are horrendous. maybe, just maybe, if they focused on making a good game people would play it. instead they have the majority of the competitive community in an uproar over how asinine their patches have been and this is the community that supports them. we're the ones playing regardless of how badly they're fucking this up for everyone. we're the ones who bought the game just out of hope they'd deliver something worthwhile.

the saddest part of all is that we're not even hard to please. most gamers want new content. something fresh to look at and to keep them going. cod gets map packs every 3-6 months. sc2 constantly pumps out new maps every season. LoL releases new toons regularly. we don't want that. all we want is the same game we've been playing to be ported over to an updated engine with better graphics, and better registry. the ground work is already laid out. we've already figured out how to balance the game because we've been playing it for 10 years. i mean valve, com'n man, copy and paste is not so hard. boo to new maps, balance the damn game first. its what the people who've already lined your pockets want.

cs_assault looks awful in this game

They took everything that was wrong with CSS maps and their cluttergarbage and then used that concept to envision the birth of this atrocity.
