Not only was Jamtown able to return to their former strength for playoffs, they surpassed my expectations having beat Carl Sagan Foundation last round 5-3. Witness also had an impressive first round beating Super Friends without dropping a round. I think one of the biggest factors in this match will be the medics. Medicing on viaduct is god awful, as med picks and uber drops happen frequently. It takes good communication and placement in order to keep your med alive on viaduct. Both of these teams in my opinion have excellent medics, which is one of the reasons I think this match will end up being close. If you take the pocket soldiers into consideration, I would have to say Witness has the overall stronger combo. Jamtown on the other hand has the stronger demoman in addition to two scouts who I know play well together and can both snipe. I'm guessing Jamtown is going to keep the upsets coming.

Wow, I would have never guessed either of these teams would be playing in the third round of the upper bracket, let alone playing each other there. Both teams are sitting comfortably in the bracket having won all of their matches against higher seeded teams. The interesting thing about this match is these teams have actually already played each other on this exact map. Jamtown beat Black 5 to 1 on Warmfront way back during week 2. Now, I think Black has actually improved enough over the season to reverse their previous result and get some revenge on Jamtown. Warmfront has to be a decent map for Black, they did beat Submit a Ticket 5-0 on it after all. It's still going to be a close match though. I'd actually say if you were to watch one open match this round, this would be the match to watch. I highly doubt it will be one-sided either way. Black's biggest improvement has been their scouts, which happens to not be Jamtown's strength. So be on the lookout for flanks galore.

Ya know, I am pulling for Eyebrows to win this match, I really am. However I am just not seeing that happening today. Especially against a consistent team like Garbage, I am not expecting Eyebrows to make it any further in playoffs. Garbage Plus always has their way of losing a few rounds in the beginning of the match, followed by winning four or five straight rounds. I mean, maybe they really are that adaptive and do change strategies drastically in the middle of a match. Or maybe it's all a coincidence. So in following that trend, I will further detail my prediction to say that Eyebrows will win the first two rounds, and then Garbage will win five straight all in about twenty minutes. Eyebrows can usually rely on their excellent demoman to help them win midfights, but since Garbage also possess a top notch demo, I suspect Eyebrows to lose the one advantage they usually have over other open teams.

iM < iSIX 1-5 by Deathanchor

Out of all the top5 teams, Immortal6 is probably most happy to see SYOPS as their opponents. Immortal played very well against SYOPS in the past during snakewater week. While warmfront isn't exactly snakewater, it is still a fairly large map with a difficult last point to capture. I suspect Immortal to take advantage off their ability with utilities to run heavy while defending last and run sniper while attacking last. SYOPS might have excellent coordination, but coordination can only get you so far up against a 450HP enemy with 500DPS at point black range. Attacking last against Immortal6 is always a pain, but on warmfront it can turn into an even worse situation. If SYOPS want a fighting chance at this match, they will have to figure out a way to beat i6's defense. I actually expect SYOPS to win more midfights. Their soldiers in my opinion are a good step above i6's, and will do wonders during a midfight with some additional house/roof control.

Ya know I am surprised these teams have yet to play against one another. I guess Koreabros have always been just out of reach of getting a match scheduled against Witness. Now Koreabros didn't exactly win their last match. They ended up getting a forfeit win over Slay Mode due to some scheduling issues on Slay Mode's end. Regardless, Koreabros moves on. Now warmfront is actually one of their better maps. They took four rounds off of Animals on it (when they were pretty good), and beat Lobby Footage on it (before they improved). Witness never actually played any notable teams during warmfront week, so it's a little up in the air about how they will do against a tougher opponent like Koreabros on it. As much as I would love Koreabros to clutch this, it isn’t likely.
