    TF2 LAN Maps Released

Everett "rk-" Wells on Mon, 01/30/2012 7:08PM
(ESEAnews) - Though still over a month away, the establishment at ESEA League have finalized the TF2 Maps rotation, which is as follows:

    UPPER ROUND 1
  • cp_badlands, koth_pro_viaduct_rc3

  • LOWER ROUND 1 / UPPER FINALS
  • cp_granary, cp_snakewater

  • LOWER ROUND 2
  • cp_gullywash_final1, cp_badlands

  • As with all TF2 LANs, should any match reach a 3rd and deciding map, the two teams will each eliminate one and a map will be randomly drawn from the remaining 4 maps from the season.

Of particular note is the lack of Gravelpit, which has been left completely off the rotation and looks likely to be on its way to official retirement (hey, a man can dream) - although it could still theoretically pop up its ugly head as a tiebreaker map, along with Warmfront and Standin. All-in-all, I think it's fair to say the best 5 maps are being used, though there will no doubt be comments to either side of that argument.

Should make for some great TF2 matches, even though I get lost sometimes when watching

i vote that next season koth_flankville_rc1 is put in the rotation

and the best maps are not being used since standin isn't there

    this is great

i can't wait to see cp_gullywash stalemate for hours! that was so fun to watch! good thing the shitty map cp_gravelpit isn't in rotation, never any good maps on that!

honestly how can you dislike gravelpit to the point where gully is better? it is extremely easy to follow from a spectator point of view and it is 40 times better than gullywash. this is going to be great for people that spec tf2, unlike gravelpit where you are forced to make a move and fight, we are going to get the pleasure of seeing two teams spam rockets pointlessly at each other until one of them fucking kills themselves at lan and the other team pushes into last on the advantage, going up 1-0 on gullywash after 90 minutes of play

    holy shit im mad

    no standin thank god.

also, gully wash isnt that bad. Its still way better than warmfront.

ALthough the gravelpit exclusion is curious.

i love playing gravelpit, but you can't deny winning is a bit of a coin toss.

one sniper pick, dropped uber, or kritz usually determines the outcome of the entire match.

    WHAT NO STANDIN?

#8 has it, gpit diminishes the integrity of a win by being very, very fluky... at least with gullywash, you tend to lose because of the mistakes your team made, rather than some random SG placement or fluky sniper pick.

I really wanna see more standin. Most underrated map by far.

change gpit to have to cap A, then cap B, then cap C and you get an amazing map.

I'm pretty sure scorpio edited a version of Gpit to play exactly like that Plat, he just never released it for us to test(plus gpit testing wouldn't be as relevant in a low-skilled PUG environment compared to scrims or invite PUGs).

TLR asked for it a while back. I've also made an additional exit to lower C from B, but it looks like shit right now. I'll go back and pretty it up at some point.

#12 Still too rough around the edges, needs a bit of polish.
